Our Philosophy of Child Care
The KCV Board of Directors believe that the family structure was designed by God and that his desire is that children be raised by a mother and a father, and, preferably, with siblings. It is within the family structure that children best learn spiritual truths, and develop the mental, emotional, and physical security that they need.
In many cases and for many reasons this structure has begun to break down in Zimbabwe. In providing care for children, KCV believes that the family unit should be maintained. Therefore in providing homes for children, KCV will make every effort to stay away from the institutional concept, and will care for children in single family dwellings.
Our Story in brief . . .
Khayelihle Children's Village is a Zimbabwean non profit organisation established in march 1992 and registered with the Zimbabwe Welfare Organisation Registration in 1994.The organsation was established to address the increasing plight of children affected by the HIV?AIDS pandemic.Determined to address the acute plight of orphaned, abandoned and other destitute children in Zimbabwe. KCV was registered as a non-profit-making welfare organisation by the Department of Social Welfare of the Government of Zimbabwe on the 20th of April 1994.
